CATERPILLAR TO SHOWCASE MINING TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS AT CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW

For the first time ever, Caterpillar Inc. will showcase its mining offerings at CES® (Consumer Electronics Show). But it won’t be trucks, dozers and mining shovels that take center stage. It will be the mining technologies that are helping Caterpillar customers take the productivity and safety of their operations to unprecedented levels.

IMPROVED MACHINE PERFORMANCE, INCREASED POWER AND LOWER OPERATING COSTS ARE ALL HALLMARKS OF THE NEW CAT® 317 AND 317 GC NEXT GEN EXCAVATORS

The new Cat® 317 and 317 GC 17-ton class Next Gen excavators boast improved machine performance, increased efficiencies and lower owning and operating costs than previous models. Offering more power and performance, the new 317 excavator features multiple standard Cat technologies to boost operating efficiencies by up to 45%. The versatile new 317 GC lowers maintenance costs by up to 20%.

CATERPILLAR CELEBRATES PRODUCTION OF 175,000 MEDIUM HIGH DRIVE DOZERS

In 1985, Caterpillar expanded its revolutionary elevated sprocket undercarriage concept to its medium track-type tractor (MTTT) line with the launch of the H-Series models. Still unique to this day for the 130 to 350 hp (100 to 250 kW) dozer class, the high drive design conformed to the ground better, improving durability, serviceability and performance compared to low-drive and oval track designs.

NEW CAT® MH3040 MATERIAL HANDLER CUTS FUEL BY UP TO 25 PERCENT AND MAINTENANCE COSTS UP TO 20 PERCENT

Delivering the power and reliability required for the most demanding material handling applications in scrap and millyard operations, the new Cat® MH3040 builds on the successful legacy of the M325D L MH model. The boom, sticks and other high-stress areas feature thick, multiplate fabrications, castings and forgings to withstand wear and deliver years of durable operation. Specially designed mountings on the upper frame support the new heavy-duty cab.

NEXT GENERATION CAT® 6060 HYDRAULIC MINING SHOVEL FEATURES GREATER PERFORMANCE AND INCREASED DURABILITY

The next generation Cat® 6060 hydraulic mining shovel features multiple design enhancements and new components that advance machine performance, durability, serviceability and operator comfort. CAT® PIN GRABBER COUPLERS BOOST PRODUCTIVITY, RELIABILITY, AND KEEP SAFETY A PRIORITY

Cat® pin grabber couplers bring a new level of productivity allowing the operator to change tools in a matter of seconds rather than minutes. Excavators of similar sizes can share attachments. With the addition of the VB and HB sizes of pin grabber couplers, there is now a coupler for every size of excavator from the 311 – 390. VB and HB refer to linkage sizes.

NEW CAT 315 NEXT GEN SMALL EXCAVATOR DESIGN DRIVES BIG PRODUCTIVITY AND EFFICIENCY GAINS

Offering superior performance in a compact design, the new Cat® 315 Next Gen excavator features a new powertrain, technology and simplified maintenance to boost performance, efficiency and productivity. Built with a spacious new cab design, the new excavator delivers a more comfortable working environment than the 315F L and 314F L (Japan) models it replaces. The compact design gives operators the confidence to dig, swing and dump in space-restricted jobsites.
