GIC ORGANISER LAUNCHES DEDICATED TRUCK BODYBUILDING EXPO
The TCUBE exhibition will showcase innovative commercial vehicle customizations, including cement mixer trucks, concrete pump trucks, water trucks, and low boy trailers for construction equipment transport.
Mediapoint & Exhibitions, the organiser of the GIC concrete exhibition, is proud to announce the launch of TCUBE, a brand-new exhibition dedicated to the European truck bodybuilding industry.
Scheduled for 17–19th October 2024 at Piacenza Expo in Italy, TCUBE will connect end-users with leading suppliers of customised vehicle solutions, including cement mixer trucks, concrete pump trucks, water trucks, and low boy trailers.
While established trade fairs cater to the general truck industry across Europe, TCUBE will focus on the design, construction, and installation of customised cargo areas tailored to specific truck chassis for specialised applications, including in the construction sector.
“Feedback from participants at our existing events, like GIC, has been overwhelmingly positive regarding the value of a niche and sector-specific focus. This enthusiastic response directly informed our decision to launch TCUBE and provide the truck bodybuilding industry with its own dedicated platform,” says Fabio Potestà, director of Mediapoint & Exhibitions, the company behind TCUBE.
TCUBE aims to shine a light on innovation and connect vehicle end-users – from small business owners to large fleet managers – with commercial vehicle manufacturers, fitters, and dealers, making it easier to find personalised transport solutions that optimise cost, functionality, and sustainability.
“Bodybuilding is a collaborative effort between truck manufacturers, bodybuilders, and end-users. That’s why a highly targeted event like TCUBE is so important to help make introductions and facilitate discussions to ensure the final product perfectly aligns with its intended purpose,” Potestà, explains.
Made in Italy
As for the choice of location, Italy boasts a thriving commercial vehicle bodybuilding industry that can be a valuable resource for European truck buyers seeking unique and high-performance bodies.
“Italy has a rich heritage in metal working and design and Italian bodybuilders are known for delivering not only on the aesthetics but also on quality. The industry here is at the forefront of using lightweight yet strong materials, such as aluminium and composites, to improve fuel efficiency and payload capacity. We are also seeing increasing use of electric truck chassis with a variety of customised bodies, showcasing Italy’s commitment to sustainable transport solutions,” Potestà says.
Innovation, sustainability, and regulation
TCUBE 2024’s conference programme is still a work in progress, but the main themes are likely to include the sustainability of the road transport industry; the technological update of vehicles, equipment, and components; and the most recent regulations in Italy and the EU. The goal is to provide a valuable opportunity for stakeholders to share knowledge and collaborate to drive progress in the European truck bodybuilding industry.
“We are looking forward to welcoming exhibitors, conference speakers, and visitors to the inaugural TCUBE at Piacenza Expo in Italy this October. The event promises to be an exciting and insightful exploration of the diverse and ingenious world of truck bodybuilding,” Potestà concludes.
