Volvo CE promotes cleaner and leaner operations for Indonesia’s mining industry
At this year’s Sweden-Indonesia Sustainability Partnership Conference in Jakarta, Volvo CE participated in key discussions on how the latest equipment can deliver advances in efficiency and environmental performance for mining operations in the country.
This year’s Sweden-Indonesia Sustainability Partnership (SISP) Conference was built around the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which marries well with Volvo Group’s own ambitions around its journey to net-zero, with specific targets for 2030 and beyond. At the most recent SISP, Volvo CE contributed to an engaging roundtable discussion focused on bringing greater sustainability and innovation to Indonesia’s mining operations.
Participating in the roundtable discussion was Gerrit Lambert, Head of Market Indonesia at Volvo CE, along with Vincent Santonso, Sales and Marketing Director at PT Indotruck Utama, who explored advances in machinery and equipment that have the potential to positively impact Indonesia’s mining industry. The presentation was well-received and prompted a lively Q&A session that saw a dynamic exchange of ideas and perspectives on the role of technology in advancing sustainable mining practices. Furthermore, as a direct outcome of the discussions, Sweden, in conjunction with Volvo CE and other key companies, is currently in talks to establish a long-term collaboration program focused on advancing sustainability within Indonesia’s mining industry.
Showcased at the event were the ECR25 Electric compact excavator and the L25 Electric compact wheel loader, highlighting their impressive capabilities. Attendees had the opportunity for an up-close and personal experience, witnessing firsthand the full potential of these innovative machines in contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions.

Established in 2020, the SISP event has evolved into a crucial assembly for leaders across key sectors, playing a pivotal role in a sustained bilateral program that fosters collaboration between Sweden and Indonesia across vital industries.
