First Look at New Doosan Excavators at ScotPlant 2022

Doosan Authorised Dealer, Castle Douglas-based James Gordon Ltd (Gordons), is showing several new Doosan products for the first time at the ScotPlant 2022 Exhibition at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh from 22-23 April 2022.

They include UK premieres for the new DX140LC-7 14.6 tonne crawler excavator, the next generation of Doosan mini-excavators and the new DX100W-7 10.7 tonne wheeled excavator. Gordons will also show the DL420CVT-7 wheel loader and the DA30-7 articulated dump truck (ADT).

The New Doosan DX-7 Range of Medium-Sized Excavators
The DX140LC-7 is powered by the Doosan D34 4-cylinder Stage V diesel engine providing 86 kW (115 HP) of power at 2000 RPM. The DX140LC-7 is part of Doosan’s new medium-sized ‘DX-7’ range of 17 Stage V crawler and wheeled excavator models from 14 to 25 tonne. Altogether, the new medium-sized DX-7 models provide significantly higher performance in every area than the previous generation Stage IV machines.

They combine enhanced comfort, increased tool carrier capability and novel operator assist technology, with new features to boost fuel efficiency, uptime and return on investment, with a focus on increased power, robustness and agility. Maintenance of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) has also been greatly reduced.

Next Generation Doosan Mini-Excavators
Visitors to ScotPlant can see selected models from Doosan’s next generation mini-excavator range for the first time at ScotPlant. Doosan has recently launched the new DX27Z-7 2.8 tonne, DX35Z-7 3.9 tonne, DX50Z-7 5.4 tonne and DX55R-7 5.7 tonne Stage V compliant models.

All four models offer the highest power and torque in their respective classes and cover a wide range of applications including heavy duty work. A novel platform design featuring new upper structures has increased durability/robustness and all the models offer a larger working range than other machines on the market, coupled with higher lifting capacities and digging forces.

New High Performance 10 tonne Wheeled Excavator
Also featuring a new look design, the DX100W-7 10.7 tonne wheeled excavator from Doosan make its debut at ScotPlant. The 10 tonne weight class represented by the DX100W-7 is new to the Doosan range and the DX100W-7 offers a high performance solution for customers looking for a wheeled excavator designed primarily for urban and road maintenance applications.

For this type of work, the DX100W-7 offers the best compromise between compactness and agility, complemented by excellent productivity and high-end comfort. It is very important that this type of machine can operate in very restricted areas, so the DX100W-7 can be equipped with the option of four wheel steering and a crabbing mode, with two wheel steering as standard.

As well as agility in confined spaces, the DX100W-7 offers the highest safety and specifications on the market. The integral 1.35 tonne counterweight ensures the highest stability for lifting work in combination with the articulated boom and long arm, which together provide a larger working range than other machines in this class, despite having similar boom and arm lengths. The counterweight also has a novel design, offering the best maintenance access in the industry, from the rear of the machine and from ground level.

The Award-Winning Doosan DL-7 Wheel Loader Range
Like all of the 11 models in the award-winning ‘DL-7’ range of wheel loaders from Doosan, the DL420CVT-7 offers a next generation design, incorporating a powerful new Stage V engine and providing higher productivity, increased fuel efficiency and a low cost of ownership, coupled with a new cab offering a superb environment and experience for the operator.

With an output of 240 kW (326 HP) of power at 1800 RPM, the Scania DC09 engine in the DL420CVT-7 provides generous torque at low RPM. The engine meets Stage V emission regulations through the use of selective catalyst reduction, diesel oxidation catalyst and diesel particulate filter (DPF) after-treatment technologies.

Up to 15% Additional Fuel Savings
The DL420CVT-7 is equipped with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), the result of a permanent combination of a hydraulic technology and a mechanical technology which provides a smooth and continuous speed variation. It allows the DL420CVT-7 to automatically transition from hydrostatic power at low speed to the mechanical system to operate at higher speeds.

The complete driving range, forwards and in reverse, is controlled by the CVT system. Low engine speeds ensure a high efficiency and the highest driving comfort irrespective of the traction speed. The power splitting continuously variable technology facilitates moving off softly and hydraulically. Furthermore, with the CVT, a fuel saving of up to 15% can be achieved.

The Doosan DA30-7 ADT
Completing the display on the Gordons stand will be the DA30-7 ADT, offering a payload of 28 tonne. The DA30-7 is powered by the Scania Stage V compliant DC09 9 litre diesel engine providing 276 kW (375 HP) of power.

The DA30-7 ADT has been upgraded with a range of features including a new cab, a new self-levelling front suspension and a new tandem bogie system. The semi-levelling front suspension adjusts itself independently depending on the operating conditions to ensure a comfortable working environment for the operator. The cab on the DA30-7 ADT has new comfortable hand grips/foot rests and an improved layout for the display which is easier to use even for tired eyes.
