Two Develon wheel loaders with CVT transmissions and the excellent service provided by Develon dealer, ATLAS Rostock, had previously made a good impression at the company. In fact, the experience was so positive that the company has now purchased five new DL420CVT-7 wheel loaders from Develon. The DL420CVT-7 uses a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) that significantly improves fuel efficiency compared to a torque converter machine.

Reliable and Efficient
For the past three years, two previous generation CVT wheel loaders had each completed around 2300 operating hours a year at the company. Martin Schmidt, Managing Director of André Voß Erdbau & Transport GmbH, is extremely satisfied: "The Develon machines work absolutely reliably and with very good fuel efficiency." The average fuel consumption is just 13.4 l/h. "In addition, we have had an absolutely reliable partner in our dealer, ATLAS Rostock, for many years, who we can rely on at any time."

One of the main reasons for the machines' excellent fuel efficiency is their CVT transmission. Dirk Mysch, Sales Manager at Develon, said: “This gearbox combines the advantages of a mechanical and hydrostatic gearbox and excludes the disadvantages of both systems. With increasing speed and depending on the application-related requirements, the variable transmission changes steplessly from hydrostatic to mechanical drive. The advantages of the system include, in particular, the excellent traction that a hydrostatic transmission offers, and driving over longer distances with a purely mechanical transmission. The fuel savings of up to 30 percent are due to the lower engine speed compared to conventional transmissions, which is necessary to achieve maximum speed and traction.”

Diverse Range of Applications
At the handover of the five new wheel loaders, representatives from André Voß Erdbau & Transport GmbH, ATLAS Rostock and Develon were all present. Martin Schmidt commented: "For us, it's not every day we buy five wheel loaders at once. A very special day - also for us." André Voß Erdbau & Transport GmbH has a wide range of activities, ranging from being a waste disposal company, Europe-wide heavy transport and logistics services to the trade in bulk goods. The company has its own storage facilities for the extraction of sand and gravel as well as quay facilities in Stralsund and Wolgast for the delivery of other marine building materials from the Baltic Sea and imports.

The areas of application for the new wheel loaders will be correspondingly diverse. Their main tasks include loading trucks, mixing bulk materials, feeding crushing plants and direct mining in sand pits.
